With overall responsibility for the development of student formation.
As Director of Formation, Nick has responsibility for ensuring courses and events promote the development of the whole person through the integration of the four dimensions of formation - human, spiritual, doctrinal and missionary. He also collaborates on module design, lecturing, student support and assisting the Media Consultant in communication and promotion of School news, developments and events.
Nick is a Permanent Deacon of the Diocese of Lancaster, and is its Vocations and Formation Director for the Permanent Diaconate. He was a consultant to the Bishop of Lancaster’s Office, working with Bishop O’Donoghue on the Fit for Mission? initiative, and a consultant in Adult Formation for the Diocese of Lancaster’s Education Service. He has also worked in diaconal formation in Birmingham and Kinnoull.
He holds a BA Divinity Degree and a MA in Spiritual Formation, and has a particular interest in developing Dogmatic Spirituality.
Nick is a well-known author for the Catholic Truth Society, a widely read blogger and a frequent contributor to EWTN’s radio show, Celtic Connections. He is the author of the Diocese of Lancaster’s online Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies. His publications include works on pastoral care, spirituality and the New Evangelisation: Praying the Rosary with the Saints (CTS, 2004); Prayers for Grieving Parents: Help after a Miscarriage or Stillbirth (CTS, 2009); Living with Illness and Suffering: The Catholic Way to Hope and Healing (CTS, 2010); Companion to Faith: Ways to Live the Year of Faith (CTS, 2012); Praying the Creed in the Year of Faith (CTS, 2013); Stations of the Cross with Pope Francis (CTS, 2014).
